Actuation Valve & Control Limited has been working in partnership with The Low Carbon Innovatory project at LJMU to identify the thermal conditions of our warehouse facility and offices, exploring ways to achieve energy saving and to establish our carbon footprint. Several key recommendations have been given by The Low Carbon Innovatory project at LJMU to assist the company in moving towards a neutral carbon footprint. Actuation Valve is proud to announce that in the 6 key areas of UK policy knowledge, measurement and reporting, Actuation Valve received 5 ‘green lights’ the 6th being an ‘amber’ due to the growth aspirations of the business. The directors are considering new strategies to mitigate the increased Carbon that may result from this growth, and were especially interested in the calculation of the monetary value of carbon offset that the company needs to achieve in order to become carbon neutral. Luke Parker, Actuation Valve’s Commercial Director, commented, “We believe it is vital to the environment and our contribution to the reduction in carbon emissions that we firmly established our starting point,” he further added, “we are proud of the report and were blown away by its findings and recommendations….. our carbon offsetting target is achievable and we have started the process to become fully carbon neutral.” Actuation Valve gives thanks and acknowledgement to Mawada Abdellatif, Tony Seasman and all the team at The Low Carbon Innovatory project at LJMU for their expertise and guidance and European Regional Development Fund for its support.
