Brass Gate Valves

Actuation Valve offers a range of Gate Valves for industrial and plumbing needs. Notably, the Brass Gate Valve - PN20 - WRAS Approved is brass-made with BSPT threading, WRAS approved for ¼” to 2” sizes, rated PN20, and operates from -20°C. Another option, the Brass Gate Valve - Class 150 - NPT, is rated CL150, works from -20°C to 120°C, and has NPT threading. The CR Brass Gate Valve, compliant with BS5154, comes in various sizes (15mm to 54mm) depending on the material (brass or gunmetal). Our gate valves are high-quality components used in various industries to control fluid flow while meeting industry standards.

Key Features

Key features and benefits of Brass Gate Valves
1

Key Features

Brass gate valves are highly resistant to corrosion, making them suitable for use in water and other corrosive environments.
2

Key Features

They are known for their robust and high-quality construction, ensuring long-lasting performance due to them having excellent corrosion resistance properties.
3

Key Features

Many brass gate valves have integral seating surfaces, which enhance sealing and prevent leaks.
4

Key Features

Some models are approved by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS), ensuring they can be used in applications involving wholesome water.
5

Key Features

Brass is known for it's excellent machinability, making it easier to create precise valve components. This ensures a high degree of quality in the manufacturing process, which contributes to the reliability of the valves.
6

Key Features

Brass has lower friction coefficients compared to some other materials, which means that these valves can be operated with less force. This results in smoother and more efficient control of fluid flow.

AV-2015 Brass Gate Valve - PN20

Brass gate valves are widely used in plumbing systems, residential applications, and low-pressure environments to regulate fluid flow. These valves are typically made of brass, a copper alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance against water, air, and non-acidic fluids. Brass gate valves are well-suited for low-pressure applications, commonly found in residential plumbing systems. Many of these valves feature threaded ends for easy installation without welding or soldering, and they provide a reliable shut-off mechanism, forming a tight seal when fully closed to minimise the risk of leaks. Moreover, brass gate valves are cost-effective compared to other valve materials, making them a popular choice for residential and low-pressure applications. These valves are valued for their durability, corrosion resistance, and ease of use in scenarios where a dependable shut-off valve is essential.

AV-2017 Brass Gate Valve - Class 150 - NPT

Class 150 Brass Gate Valves are industrial valves designed for controlling the flow of liquids and gases in applications operating at or below Class 150 pressure ratings. They have a pressure rating of 150 psi, making them suitable for various applications within this pressure range. These valves are typically crafted from brass, a copper alloy known for its corrosion resistance and durability, making them suitable for diverse environments. Brass gate valves operate using a sliding gate or wedge, allowing fluid to pass when open and forming a seal to stop the flow when closed. They find common use in industrial applications that require moderate pressure control, such as water supply systems, oil and gas pipelines, and manufacturing processes. With a temperature range of -20°C to 120°C, they are adaptable to environments with moderate temperature variations. Many Class 150 Brass Gate Valves feature a cast handwheel for manual operation, simplifying control. Class 150 denotes the pressure rating, and these valves come in various sizes to accommodate different pipe diameters. In industrial settings, these valves are integral for regulating fluid flow, providing control and shut-off capabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Brass gate valves are used to control the flow of fluids in various applications, including water supply systems, industrial processes, and more.

Brass gate valves are typically made of copper and zinc alloys, while bronze gate valves are made of copper and tin alloys. Bronze is stronger and more corrosion-resistant.

Brass gate valves are generally suitable for high-pressure applications, but their performance can be limited compared to other materials such as stainless steel.

Brass gate valves can handle a range of temperatures, but bronze gate valves are often preferred for higher-temperature applications due to their strength.

Brass gate valves are cost-effective, easy to install, and suitable for low-pressure environments, like residential plumbing.

Yes, due to their stronger material composition, bronze gate valves are generally more durable.

Routine maintenance is recommended for all valves to ensure proper functioning and prevent leaks.

While gate valves are primarily used for on/off applications, they can be used for throttling, but it's not their primary function.

Yes, if the sizing and compatibility with the fluid are suitable, you can replace existing gate valves with brass or bronze ones.

Yes, brass and bronze gate valves are available in various sizes and configurations to fit different pipe diameters and application requirements.
