All of our actuated butterfly valves can be set up in either the Fail Safe Close/Open Position with several manual override features across the range. Control and Indication add-ons can be specified at the time of order. Each individual actuator retains its full traceability all the way back to the factory with a unique serial number. All assemblies performed by Actuation Valve in house also detail and cross reference this serial number with accompanying valves and accessories in a build sheet format.

A double offset butterfly valve features two offsets in its design—one behind the disc and one from the pipeline centreline. This creates a cam-like movement, allowing the disc to lift away from the seat during operation, reducing friction and wear while maintaining a tight shut-off.

When paired with a Hytork actuator, these valves offer reliable automation, reduced operating torque, and precise flow control. The double offset design ensures longer service life, improved sealing performance, and suitability for higher pressure and temperature applications compared to concentric valves.

A double offset butterfly valve is a better choice because it reduces friction between the disc and seat during operation. This means less wear, a longer lifespan, lower operating torque, and more reliable sealing compared to a standard concentric valve where the disc stays in constant contact with the seat.
