The Swing Type Wafer Check Valve is generally classed as the most compact, lightweight and cost effective design within the family of Check Valves and is the ideal solution for all larger size pipeline back flow prevention requirements. From a maintenance free design and ease of installation the Swing Type Wafer Check Valve is mounted between two ANSI or Din Iso Flanges and can be removed with little difficulty in the field. The reduced weight Wafer design helps to reduce not only manufacturing costs but also installation with less support requirements.
The unobstructed flow path design from the Swing Type Wafer Check Valve also enables the Valve to be used within applications that carry some form of solid elements such as Wastewater, Slurry & Pulp.
The Swing Type Wafer Check Valve is opened through the flow of line pressure which forces the disc upwards on its hinges allowing full through flow. Any revers flow within the the downstream pipeline will cause the disc to close against the soft or metal material arrangement and preventing back flow and possible cross contamination. Loss of any flow within the pipeline will also force the closure of the Swing Type Wafer Check Valve through the weight of the disc and gravity.
