What to Send Us

To specify the right actuator and process your free issue enquiry efficiently, please have the following information ready.

Sapag valve series and nominal size (e.g. JHP DN200, JMC DN150, Discovanne DN100) — confirms valve type, pressure class, and actuator interface
Maximum operating pressure (bar or psi) — required for actuator torque calculation
Maximum differential pressure across the valve at operation
Required fail-safe position — fail-open, fail-closed, or stay-put (double-acting)
Control signal or supply type — instrument air pressure (bar), electrical voltage, or analogue signal (4–20 mA)
Process medium and operating temperature — essential for Discovanne HT/THT and JMT versions, and for any application above 150°C
Hazardous area classification — Zone, category, and gas group if ATEX-certified actuator or accessories are required

Which Sapag Valves Can We Actuate?

JHP — High Performance Double Offset Butterfly Valve

Double offset, bidirectional butterfly valve available in wafer and lug body types. Designed to EN 593 / API 609 Cat.B. Available from DN40 to DN3000, with operating pressures up to 40 bar at PN25 depending on temperature and seat material. Seat options include RTFE, PTFE, metal PP, and metal HT — the metal HT seat extends the operating range to 400°C, making the JHP suitable for steam, chemicals, hydrocarbons, and high-temperature process duty. The integrated ISO 5211 baseplate allows direct electric or pneumatic actuator mounting. ATEX electrical continuity available on request. Quarter-turn electric actuators are standard; spring-return or double-acting pneumatic actuators also available.

JMC — Concentric Seat Butterfly Valve

Concentric, bidirectional butterfly valve available in wafer, lug, and double flange body types. Designed to EN 593 / API 609 Cat.A / ISO 10631. Available from DN32 to DN3000. Pressure ratings from 25 bar at smaller sizes, reducing with increasing diameter. Elastomeric seat options include EPDM (peroxide and sulphur-cured), nitrile NBR, carboxylic nitrile XNBR, FPM/FKM, HNBR (Therban), and CSM — covering water, HVAC, oils, chemicals, and aggressive oxidising media.

JMT — Resilient Seated Butterfly Valve with PTFE Liner

Resilient seated, bidirectional butterfly valve with PTFE or modified PTFE (TFM) liner. Available in wafer (DN50–DN300) and lug (DN25–DN1200) body types.

Discovanne (Gachot) — High Performance Double Offset Butterfly

Valve Double offset, bidirectional butterfly valve in wafer and lug body types. Designed to EN 593 / ISO 10631. Available DN50 to DN300. The double offset geometry provides low operating torque, reduced seat wear, and no retention zone — suitable for isolation and control service. Seat versions include RTFE (to 220°C), metal HT (to 300°C), metal HT (to 450°C), metal THT (to 550°C), and cryogenic (to –196°C). Body and disc materials in carbon steel and stainless steel. High-temperature actuator versions are available for elevated temperature assemblies — please confirm operating temperature and seat type when enquiring. Quarter-turn electric or pneumatic actuation.

Monovar® — Multi-Jet Control Valve

Multi-jet regulating and control valve in wafer (DN100–DN1500) and lug (DN900–DN2100) body types. Designed to EN 1349. The Monovar® uses two circular perforated plates — one fixed, one mobile — to divide the flow into multiple jets, dissipating energy in a controlled manner with excellent cavitation characteristics and precise, stable flow or pressure regulation. Suitable for flow measurement, pressure regulation, and level control in water supply, industrial, and district energy applications. Leakage Class III (DN100–500) and Class IV (DN600–2100) to B16-104 / IEC 60534-4. ACS certified for drinking water (NSF 61 on request). Flange connections to EN 1092-1 PN10/16/20/25 and ANSI B16.5 Cl 150. Linear electric actuators for modulating control are the standard choice; on/off electric actuation also available.

Frequently Asked Questions

The service covers the JHP high performance double offset butterfly valve, JMC concentric seat butterfly valve, JMT resilient seated butterfly valve with PTFE liner, Discovanne (Gachot) high performance double offset butterfly valve, and the Monovar® multi-jet control valve. If you have a valve not listed here, contact us and we'll advise on suitability.

No. You supply the existing valve body — we supply the actuator package and carry out the fitment. The only exception is if an inspection on receipt reveals that the valve requires reconditioning before it is safe to automate, in which case we'll contact you before proceeding.

The valve should be cleaned, fully depressurised, and free from process medium. We carry out a condition inspection on receipt and will advise if any issues are found before proceeding with the actuator build.

Yes. High-temperature electric actuators and extended bonnets are available for Discovanne assemblies operating up to 450°C or 550°C (THT version). The actuator specification for elevated temperature assemblies is subject to confirmation of operating temperature, seat type, and disc material — please include these details in your enquiry.

Yes. The JHP, JMC, JMT, and Discovanne ranges all feature an integrated ISO 5211 baseplate, which allows direct mounting of compatible quarter-turn electric or pneumatic actuators without additional bracket fabrication in the majority of sizes. We confirm the drive bushing and coupling requirements at the point of technical review.

Yes. Linear electric actuators providing modulating control are available for the Monovar® range. As a flow regulating and control valve with anti-cavitation characteristics, the Monovar® is typically specified with a modulating actuator and a 4–20 mA or 0–10 V input signal. Please confirm the valve size, operating pressure differential, required control signal, and whether flow measurement output is required when enquiring.

Yes. Where pneumatic actuation is preferred but modulating control is required — for example on the JHP or Discovanne in a flow control application — a pneumatic positioner can be included as part of the assembly. The positioner accepts a 4–20 mA input signal and controls the actuator to a proportional position. Please confirm the required control signal, air supply pressure, and whether a volume booster or solenoid valve is also required when enquiring.

Typical turnaround from receipt to return despatch is 5–10 working days for standard electric actuation on butterfly valve types. ATEX-specified assemblies, high-temperature Discovanne builds, or Monovar® modulating assemblies may require longer depending on actuator availability. A confirmed lead time is given at the point of order.

Yes — batch submissions are welcome. Please include the valve series, size, seat type, and actuation requirements for each valve in your enquiry so we can confirm a combined schedule and, where applicable, batch pricing.

The actuator package and fitment work are covered by standard warranty terms. Full details are provided with your quotation and assembly documentation.

Yes. The Monovar® holds ACS certification for drinking water service as standard, with NSF 61 available on request. Body and plate materials include ductile iron with epoxy coating and stainless steel options. Where the valve is to be installed in a potable water system, please confirm the applicable approval standard required for your project at the point of enquiry so we can ensure the correct material and coating combination is specified.

Yes. The cryogenic version of the Discovanne is rated to –196°C and is available in stainless steel body and disc materials with appropriate low-temperature packing and sealing components. Electric actuators for cryogenic duty can be specified, including extended bonnet arrangements to keep the actuator away from the cold zone. Please confirm the operating temperature, process medium, and any relevant certification requirements when enquiring.
