Koei UNIC SS Lugged Actuated PTFE Lined Butterfly Valves

The TTV Stainless Steel Actuated PTFE Butterfly Valves offer a very similar aggressive resistance and food grade option to that of the standard Valve whilst also providing external protection including corrosive environments as well as covering wash down requirements. With lugged butterfly valves If one side needs repair, you can simply disconnect it from the piping system and leave the other side connected until repairs are complete. This makes maintenance easier and faster compared to wafer pattern butterfly valves. The Koei UNIC Electric Actuator features an easy to use Allen Key Manual Override, overload protection system and end of travel electric stop. It also includes a mechanical limit/mechanical switch for open and close indication on your control panel.

Frequent Interrogation

A Koei UNIC SS Lugged Actuated PTFE Lined Butterfly Valve is a corrosion-resistant stainless-steel butterfly valve equipped with a PTFE-lined disc and body for chemical compatibility. It is powered by a Koei UNIC electric actuator, providing precise automation, long service life, and reliable isolation in demanding industrial applications.

These valves are ideal for chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, water treatment, desalination, and any application where aggressive or high-purity media are present. The PTFE lining prevents contamination and offers exceptional resistance to acids, solvents, and corrosive fluids.

PTFE outperforms elastomeric seats when handling chemicals, solvents, steam, and abrasive media. It provides:

  • Zero contamination

  • High temperature resistance

  • Excellent chemical inertness

  • Extended operational life
This makes it the best choice for aggressive or high-purity applications.

The Koei UNIC actuator offers:

  • Highly accurate open/close control

  • Robust stove-enamelled finish for external use

  • Wide operating temperature range (-25°C to +55°C)

  • Reliable manual override as standard

  • Low-maintenance, long-life operation

  • Its over-engineered design makes it ideal for heavy-duty industrial automation.

lugged butterfly valve features threaded lugs around the body, allowing the valve to be installed between flanges and used as an end-of-line valve. This provides flexibility for isolation, maintenance, and partial system shutdowns without removing downstream piping.

Yes, the stainless-steel lugged body paired with the PTFE lining delivers dependable performance under full vacuum conditions, making it suitable for vacuum lines and negative pressure chemical processes.

PTFE linings typically withstand temperatures up to around +180°C, depending on pressure. Combined with the actuator's -25°C to +55°C external rating, the package supports a wide range of demanding thermal environments. Application specifics should always be checked with Actuation Valve.

Yes — the actuator’s durable stove enamelling provides long-term protection in exposed external settings. It is designed for heavy-duty outdoor use and built to withstand industrial, marine, and corrosive atmospheres.

No. Both the PTFE lining and the Koei UNIC actuator are designed for low-maintenance, long-life service. The valve’s coating and seat material reduce wear, and the actuator’s precision gearing ensures reliable performance with minimal servicing.

Yes — the Koei UNIC actuator range includes fail-safe spring return and battery backup options, ensuring the valve moves to a predetermined safe position (open or closed) during power loss.

Non Toxic FDA Approved PTFE

The wafer-pattern concentric design uses a non-toxic PTFE internal seal that also extends across part of the outer valve body, ensuring a tight, reliable seal against mating flanges. This construction eliminates the risk of cross-contamination and delivers a butterfly valve with exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals and solvents, maintaining complete insolubility even at temperatures approaching 300°C.

While a ball valve is often chosen for demanding chemical applications, this advanced PTFE-lined butterfly valve offers comparable chemical resistance with a lighter, more compact design — making it a highly efficient alternative where space, weight, and cost matter.

Engineered Shaft Design

The single-piece shaft design gives the butterfly valve impressive strength and structural stability while allowing direct mounting for actuation assemblies. Because the process fluid is fully isolated from both the shaft and the valve body, performance and reliability are greatly improved.

This construction also removes the need for any customised mounting kits, helping reduce installation time and avoid unnecessary additional costs.

Streamlined Butterfly Valve Discs

Greater CV Potential & Less Pipe Space

TTV’s streamlined discs produce a much greater Cv than other butterfly valves on the market resulting in low-pressure drops and reduced energy costs while maintaining a bi-directional zero leakage seal when in the closed position. Low operational torque and reduced friction reduces the costs of gear, pneumatic and electric actuation whilst extending the life of the valve seal. A silicone elasticised gasket facilitates the valve sealing.

For applications which require abrasion resistance the option of a UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight-Polyethylene) is available for this particular butterfly valve.

Less space, results in less material, bringing significantly lower costs in the process. As part of Isolation applications, our valves can be fully open or fully closed with quarter turn movement (90 Degrees) of the functioning lever or actuator. When closed, the reliable seal and disc can provide 100% leak tight downstream shutoff and low-pressure loss across the valve when opened through a streamlined, energy saving metallic disc. These types of valves can also be used to regulate flow pressure or temperature through a multi-position lockable lever or 4-20mA 3-15 psi control.

Actuated Butterfly Valves are available in both pneumatic and electric operation and can be beneficial for use in remotely accessed areas, valves that require larger torque figures to operate, timing or synchronisation and reliability. Pneumatically Actuated Butterfly Valves provide the quickest form of operational control for open/close functionality and are available in both double acting and spring return units with either direct/solenoid operation. Spring Return units can be set up in a fail-safe closed mode for critical lines were the Valve will return to the closed position upon the event of power failure through the loaded springs. Fail-safe open Valves are also available upon request.

Fail-Safe Battery Backup

Fail-Safe Battery Backup is available for this product. In the event of a possible power failure the Actuator will return the Valve to a desired position. Ideal for critical line applications where safety is paramount. Will need some additional details from you.
