PTFE Seat Air Torque Actuator Pneumatic Butterfly Valves

A combination of the TTV 20WP4040F0 and Air Torque actuator. Most commonly used amongst the chemical and food or beverage industries this actuated butterfly valve assembly outperforms most others on the market. A rilsan coated body butterfly valve and anodised aluminium actuator provide external protection for most non aggressive external application factors whilst the internal PTFE seat and stainless steel disc provides superior corrosion resistance as well as an FDA approved contact material for consumable products. A replaceable valve seat and actuator rated to SIL3 complete a robust high performance package that will go the distance and provide maximum life capacity. The Air Torque actuator is in field convertible should you ever require a change from the spring return and double acting functionalities.

Frequent Interrogation

It’s a wafer-pattern butterfly valve fitted with a PTFE seat for chemical resistance and powered by an Air Torque pneumatic actuator for reliable automated flow control.

PTFE offers excellent resistance to corrosive chemicals, low friction for smooth operation, and a clean, non-contaminating sealing surface ideal for aggressive or high-purity media.

The wafer design provides compact installation, reduced weight, and compatibility with various flange standards while offering secure sealing between flanges.

Air Torque actuators are well-known for their precision rack-and-pinion mechanism, durable construction, long service life, and smooth, consistent torque output.

Yes. Air Torque actuators can be configured for simple on/off duties or fitted with positioners for accurate modulating control.

Absolutely. The PTFE seat ensures strong compatibility with solvents, acids, and corrosive media, making the valve suitable for demanding chemical and industrial applications.

They are frequently used in chemical processing, water treatment, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, petrochemicals, and general industrial automation.

Maintenance is low. PTFE seats are durable and resistant to wear, and Air Torque actuators require only periodic lubrication and inspection for optimal performance.

While wafer valves are typically not used for dead-end service, they provide reliable isolation when installed between two flanges and depressurised safely.

PTFE remains stable and insoluble at elevated temperatures within its operational limits, delivering long-term sealing performance across a wide temperature range.

Non Toxic FDA Approved PTFE

The wafer-pattern concentric design uses a non-toxic PTFE internal seal that also extends across part of the butterfly valve’s outer body, creating a tight, reliable seal against mating flanges. This approach eliminates any risk of cross-contamination and delivers outstanding resistance to aggressive chemicals and solvents, remaining completely insoluble up to 300°C — performance that rivals the sealing integrity you’d typically expect from a premium ball valve.

Engineered Shaft Design

A single-piece shaft design gives the butterfly valve exceptional strength and stability while allowing direct mounting of actuation assemblies. This construction keeps the process fluid completely isolated from both the shaft and the valve body — a level of protection you’d normally associate with a high-quality ball valve. By removing the need for a customised mounting kit, it also helps cut unnecessary installation time and added costs.

Streamlined Butterfly Valve Discs

Greater CV Potential & Less Pipe Space

TTV’s streamlined discs produce a much greater Cv than other butterfly valves on the market resulting in low-pressure drops and reduced energy costs while maintaining a bi-directional zero leakage seal when in the closed position. Low operational torque and reduced friction reduces the costs of gear, pneumatic and electric actuation whilst extending the life of the valve seal. A silicone elasticised gasket facilitates the valve sealing.

For applications which require abrasion resistance the option of a UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight-Polyethylene) is available for this particular butterfly valve.

Less space, results in less material, bringing significantly lower costs in the process. As part of Isolation applications, our valves can be fully open or fully closed with quarter turn movement (90 Degrees) of the functioning lever or actuator. When closed, the reliable seal and disc can provide 100% leak tight downstream shutoff and low-pressure loss across the valve when opened through a streamlined, energy saving metallic disc. These types of valves can also be used to regulate flow pressure or temperature through a multi-position lockable lever or 4-20mA 3-15 psi control.

Actuated Butterfly Valves are available in both pneumatic and electric operation and can be beneficial for use in remotely accessed areas, valves that require larger torque figures to operate, timing or synchronisation and reliability. Pneumatically Actuated Butterfly Valves provide the quickest form of operational control for open/close functionality and are available in both double acting and spring return units with either direct/solenoid operation. Spring Return units can be set up in a fail-safe closed mode for critical lines were the Valve will return to the closed position upon the event of power failure through the loaded springs. Fail-safe open Valves are also available upon request.
